About Us
Our Beers
SOHO Lager is brewed with 100% Noble aroma hops to create a balanced, flavoursome, quaffable premium lager, adhering to Germany’s ‘Reinheitsgebot’ purity principles of 1516 using only hops, malted barley, spring water, and yeast. Noble aroma hops are prized for their soft bitterness, increased hop oils and complex aromatics. The low alpha acids of these hops allow them to shine in harmony with the malts for a delicious, smooth, and very moreish mouthfeel. And we never pasteurise, keeping all of those lovely flavours. Recipe created by Fergal Murray, previously Master Brewer of Guinness.
SOHO American Pale Ale is made with classic pale ale aroma hops from the Pacific North West states of Oregon and Washington. The Yakima Valley in this stunning region is famed for its cultivation of wonderful hop flavours. Our Citra aroma hops are high in alpha acids, with a smooth citrusy aroma and flavour, while our Cascade hops bring a zesty grapefruit mouthfeel to the party. These hops meld together for a very moreish, hop-forward yet easy drinking pale ale.

About Us
We are an independent brewer of modern English beers with a twist.
We’re passionate about crafting super-premium ingredients for a flavoursome mouthfeel. Nothing but time (lots of it), malted barley, hops, yeast, and spring water.
Our 'Twist'
Our ‘twist’ comes with flavour. We’re passionate about our beer’s balance, where ingredients get to dance on your palate in equal measure, melding together for a flavoursome mouthfeel and a taste of more.
A Range of Artisan Beers
We’ve created these artisan beers by brewing premium ingredients with the consistency that Britain’s beer-making heritage is rightly famed for. Lager being the most challenging, we started with that and gave it a nice Bohemian twist with Saaz hops. Pale ale was next, using delicious aroma hops from the Pacific coast of our North American relatives.
Our Story
Having operated bars and restaurants in Soho and the West End for 15 years, Michael stumbled into the world of sourcing new and interesting beers for many leading venues just as Britain’s craft beer movement was beginning to stretch its legs. That operational and commercial experience sparked a desire to create a brewpub in his ‘backyard’, the melting pot of London that is Soho.
A property quest began around the backstreets of W1, but was interrupted by multiple tussles for trade marks against companies large and huge. Whilst those challenges ended favourably (yippee), legal travails depleted funds and the brewpub had to be put on hold, hopefully not for long.
And so, to Plan B.
Borrowing a word or two from a Mr P Bear, everyone in Soho is different, and that means anyone can fit in. Creating an artisan beer for all had to be our goal. We set about doing this using the very best ingredients that Britain and our European cousins have to offer, melding them together with the wizardry of a world-renowned master brewer, for a unique and quaffable experience.
Commercial brewing began in 2019, piggybacking in a high-specification brewery in the Home Counties alongside several other well-known artisan brewers and this is where we remain today. ‘Gypsies’ they call us, but then Soho’s always had that boho vibe. 25,000 pints of test brews, some swearing, and many trials in Soho’s bars brought SOHO Lager 4.5% abv to life in November 2019.
